FAQs

What certifications do I hold?

I received my Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP) certification in 2017 and it has undoubtedly improved my quality of life and that of my family. I earned my Functional Medicine Health and Wellness Coaching certification in 2022 in order to help more people in their journey to better health.

What is my goal as a Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach?

Ad Fontes is Latin for “to the sources” and I chose this as my company’s name because my goal is to help lead people back to the sources of life: God’s Word, real food, clean water, quality movement and sleep, and vibrant communities.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Joe Cross in the documentary Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead, “If I eat a lot of food made from men in white coats, I will be visiting a lot of men in white coats.” By returning to the basics, I believe my clients will be able to see less men/women in white coats and instead use their time, abilities, and resources to live out their callings.

How does my faith integrate with Nutritional Therapy and Health Coaching?

My goal is to help people thrive physically, mentally, and spiritually so they can do the work God has for them, here and now. I believe that God created food and herbs to support our body’s functioning and God-given capacity to repair tissues for health and vitality.

I am here to share hope with others by helping them go back to the basics/sources of life as God intended and by addressing all areas of health including spirituality in our coaching sessions. If you are uncomfortable that we will address spirituality in your coaching sessions, then I recommend searching for another health coach that would be a better fit for you. There are many wonderful health coaches to choose from!

What type of clientele do I enjoy working with the most?

I am most passionate about helping people with metabolic diseases or dysfunction (PCOS, Type 1 & 2 Diabetes, Prediabetes, Reactive Hypoglycemia, and Gestational Diabetes), and individuals and families who are navigating complex chronic diseases.

What is my commitment to my clients?

My commitment to you is to provide you with the best care that I possibly can, even if that means referring you to another provider who can provide you more of what you need. You deserve the absolute best!

Why are your health coaching packages priced the way they are?

Health coaching is not only working on the present situation, it is also investing in your future and this is worth every penny.

From experience, most clients receive the most benefit from the 4 month package because it gives them time to break negative beliefs they have about themselves, renew their minds with the Truth, and make new “tiny habits”. These tiny habits build upon each other creating long-lasting and sustainable change much like placing Legos bricks consistently everyday, and then before you know it, you have a Lego masterpiece!

The pricing is designed as a commitment to your health and is an investment in building your masterpiece. It is a great deal when you think about trying to get this amount of time and value from your primary care physician. How long do you typically get to talk to your doctor? The national average is 13 to 24 minutes and your appointment (for less than 30 minutes) can cost anywhere between $75-$400 per visit.

What does your doctor typically do during your appointment? They'll listen briefly, try to figure out how to manage the symptoms you're telling them about and will write you a prescription or two. Maybe they'll tell you that you need to lose weight, get more exercise, stop being so stressed, and change your diet, yet they don't provide any direction or personalization for you to achieve this.

When working with me, we will focus on root causes for symptoms and work towards a personalized health or wellness goal together.

Do you work with insurance?

No, I do not work with insurance because they are a big part of the broken medical system and I do not want them to dictate the focus and care that I provide to you.
