Who am I?

Hello there, friends! My name is Lindsay, and I am glad you are here.

I grew up in the beautiful states of Utah, New Mexico, and Colorado. We moved to Arkansas not so long ago to fulfill some of my lifelong dreams, namely owning some land (that isn't a desert) to raise our own food. I have had the privilege of living in SE Asia for a period of time and traveling to different countries across the globe. Some of my favorite pastimes are gardening, reading, researching, drawing, hiking, exploring God's creation, leatherwork, and spending time with my friends and family.

I am married and we have 3 wonderful kids and a very strange rescue dog that was likely raised by cats. We are excited to add more critters to our little homestead.

My health journey has been one of twists and turns and probably includes many issues that y'all deal with too. I’ve dealt with low blood sugar issues as a kid, chronic sinus and respiratory infections, and digestive and female issues. I have personal experience with infertility, miscarriage, depression, anxiety, food allergies, and auto-immune disorders. I have battled parasites from living overseas and probably from drinking out of the irrigation ditch and creek as a kid (shhh, my parents don't know I did that). I also suffer from TMJ disorder (not fun...) and since COV!D, I have had difficulties with my vocal cords. However, I have experienced great improvement in many of these issues due to nutritional therapy and lifestyle changes that I have made.

The hardest part of my journey has been seeing a couple of my children develop chronic diseases that had never popped up in our family's health history before. I was confused, sad, and angry for quite a while. I felt like we had been doing all the "right" and "healthy" things for them so it didn't make sense that they would develop Type 1 Diabetes or Celiac Disease. These are pretty serious and life-changing diseases, and it grieves me to see that more and more children and families are suffering with chronic diseases of all kinds. Nutritional therapy has given us the knowledge and tools to improve their lives and to thrive in spite of their trials.

I have used nutritional therapy to help my family and myself get healthier and stronger when idiopathic medicine could only offer us more and more pharmaceuticals. I don't believe that we are deficient in prescription drugs, so that's been a hard pass.

My faith, family, friends, community, and my health and wellness vision spurs me on. When I grow up, I want to be strong, healthy, vibrant, resilient, and generally a quirky old woman with lots of friends, family, and farm animals around me. All of that means that I have to start with baby steps now toward that vision of health and vitality. I try to do this everyday while remembering to relish the here and now.

What is your health and wellness vision? Who do you want to be in 5, 10, 20, and 30+ years? I cannot wait to hear!
